i'm not capable of addressing this seriously right now and also as a man my opinion will be dismissed anyway

as a woman having trouble to identify as "feminist" in the broad term and an "asexual" and thus sometimes even casually excluded from the lgbtq+ community and not really accepted by the "straights" either ... I feel like I shouldn't have a voice?? Like, it's the feeling I often get from people in those discussions
shout louder

it's not a matter of being heard, really, it's more like feeling like the kid sitting at the adult table and getting told to shut up whenever I ask if there's ketchup for my steak

How are those two related?
Um their rhetoric is basically biological essentialism "I am a women cuz I have a vagina, xx chromosomes, and ovaries"

It's silly af I mean are women w/ sywers syndrome not women
Plus biological essentialism is the basis of transphobia

"U have these chromosomes u cant change ur sex ur always gonna be what I assign u cuz of ur chromosomes"
Despite you know medical advancements and shit
I have never heard that argument in the context of biological essentialism but I'm not very well versed in the field.

ok, suuuuper stupid question, because I know shit about this:

if you are a trans woman (like, you were born with a penis and all, but you feel female), when doing the transition, do they remove the prostate? no, right? or do they?
if they don't that means you can get prostate cancer ... a "men's disease"

that's where the medical discussion is so compliated for me, like, truly, this is where my understanding of all the discussions kinda stops, because I feel like ... is there ever a real answer to this? a universally accepted I mean

Me either but:

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gender_essentialism

It cites religious ppl believing sex and gender cannot be separate as an example of biological essentialism

Not all trans people get surgeries, especially bottom surgery. I'm not a trans woman so I don't really know, but I don't think they do. I mean, trans men don't usually remove their reproductive organs. Sometimes they do, but not usually.

I know, but let's humour the discussion and say fully transitioned and all
I know that being trans doesn't mean you have to have "adjustement" surgery

but in that case, it works as well. Trans men with wombs and ovaries. They can get cervix cancer, ovarian cancer and all.

Why does this matter have to be so complex? And I kinda feel like it's so complicated because of the necessity of "political correctness" and the urge to label everything

I don't think the theory inherently dismisses trans people, from my understanding. Many people, especially transmeds are proponents of the theory that transgenderism/transsexualisms is a result of the brain being of a different sex to the body, so that would support the theory, no? Then again, jury's still out on whether that theory is based in known scientific data. Also I don't know much about the cause for transness, if you will, and I don't really care.

goes a bit in the same direction as cause for sexual orientation
and that's very dangerous field (you know, seeing how phrases like conversion therapy and the likes aren't far from that)
