oh, i know about sappho! i like her poetry, but they are a bit too sappy for me haha. its why i dont like romanticism as well: its just too sappy and waxing! i like modernist poetry, even though i HATED it when i was in high scool. i like it a lot more now, but most of the poetry i like is norwegian and they rarely get translated.
im a fan of imagism, notably william carlos williams and his oft memed "this is just to say". more recently i like audun mortensen. very postmodern hah
