In all seriousness, as an American, I agree. There's certainly a lot to make fun of, and the nordic model is superior to our shitty privatized health care system, but it's a way for other nations to deflect from their own issues imo. Hell, even for Americans it's a self deprecating defense mechanism to make peace with being so embarrassing but it really doesnt solve shit.
Fortunately the uk is terf nation and jk rowling is the supreme ruler so I can finally make fun of u guise 4 once. It's a sad day when good old us' of 'a is actually more progressive than England on gender issues haha wtf... u guys were way ahead of us with the gay stuff but we've won this round
Really wish Americans would stop mocking china tho cuz the ones that do tend to be pro-protectionist, anti-immigration racists *barf*
why is uk a terf nation, i feel like all nations are terf nations
Transphobia is alive and well all over the world (including America) but it seems to be especially bad in the uk and is promoted in academia... I mean in america our iconic radical feminists like catharine MacKinnon and andrea dworkin are/were pro trans, yet professors in the uk like sheila Jeffreys, Julie Blindel, Germaine Greer and Janice Raymond (author of The Transexual Empire) are openly transphobic. Also JK Rowling outed herself as a terf and LGB Drop the T originated in England.
