this selfpublish reddit thread might be helpful ?? it's also looking for wattpad alts.
or it could be an idea to be involved in the reddit itself, maybe as a way of promotion?
yeah reddit is also a community that im interested in. maybe i can also look for discord communities centered around writing
www.reddit.com/user/Inorai/

i used to love wattpad cause there was so many original stories but now there's just crappy fanfics, i love fanfiction but not the kind that's published on wattpad lol
I don't read ff so ill vouch for at least fantasy having some real good original works still

yeah i feel open communities (like reddit and nanowrimo) are great for help and tips, but misses the bonding experience. it's great to find writing buddies who will motivate u to keep writing and in general just more of a community feeling

I have fanfictions on A03 of kinda indie things xD

I think other than that, the only stuff that's available online is my old pieces from a few years ago in my VP blog.

Anything I've written since starting university 3 years ago is just building dust in notebooks and google drive xD. If you're ever curious though, I could send some pieces. They're a bit eclectic xD.

yeah I completely understand you.
It's how I feel with the writer accounts I've found on instagram. It's largely beginner writers/high schoolers and it's just not the same for me.

I wish there was a social media as big as instagram that could facilitate being a writer : (

oo same xD
If it wasn't for university, I wouldn't have anything complete.
I've also yet to get beyond like 8,000 words honestly. Trying to write a full book, even for online, is fucking intimidating. I've got an idea I've been working on for like 4 years and anyone would think I'd only had it for a month. Trying to get the words out is so hard cause I feel like I'm not doing it justice!!

yeah but realistically it's also very hard. like photos, art, etc. are all very easy to consume but books take a lot of time. so the rapid-cycling nature of art trends, hypes etc. just don't really work for books

true but all the ones I know just kinda post tips and stuff. Not really like, story?
the only way I can think of getting around it is by doing comics but I need to get my drawing skills up to a decent level.

it's an idea though to try and just... make having stories on insta though? like, if I get desperate and a good story that I'd wanna sacrifice for the experiment - like posting it everywhere including insta? (idk if that makes sense xD)
i've seen many ppl do short stories on insta actually, posting the text as images in chapters
do you have any accounts you could recommend?

whenever I tried to search for something like this, I just found writing tip pages and, while they're helpful for hobby writers, I struggle with them now I'm almost graduating university (they're typically in high school and it's a good community for beginner writers but everything on there I either already know or isn't helpful for me).
the only acc i follow myself is a drarry fanfiction acc lol at @hufflebud
you could always check out how they do it cause i think it works pretty well!
