so, like 90% of the time when someone I know complains about a weird smell, it's a stanky kitchen drain.
Food gets caught in the p-trap over time and breaks down and rots in there
some drain cleaner should do the trick
what kind of drain cleaner  like liquid or something???

I mean, anything that's normally used for sink drains
personally, I just use baking soda and vinegar, I have a two-basin sink, so I put baking soda in one drain, add vinegar, and PLUG that side, it should push any clog and funk out, then I switch, do it on the other side, then pour hot water down (not boiling, but almost) and it should push any old slime and food down into the sewer.

This happens to me a LOT because I don't have a garbage disposal, so all kinds of gross shit builds up in my drains.

But like, good ol' fashioned Drano works too.

if it's rotting food, a good tip for after you've gotten it cleared is to make a habit of pouring boiling water into your sink drain once a month, maybe every 2 weeks. a good like full liter of boiling water will help dissolve any gunk in there before it turns into bigger gunk

Yep!
I used to eat a lot of pasta, so the hot pasta water when I strained it did the trick, but now that I rarely eat pasta, I find my sink smells worse lolol

Which makes even more sense, you haven't been running any water at all, so whatever the last thing washed down that sink was, has had a month to just sit there.
