I honestly didn't want to come off too judgy on the stupid thing since it's not that big of a deal, but not having cash on hand can actually become pretty dangerous if for instance the world wide banking system is down or something happens like with in Russia, when providers stop supporting that country and then everyone who was vibing cashless suddenly has no quick access to their funds. it's something we love to ignore for the comfort of not having to think about how much cash we have on us
I feel like it's less likely for that to happen than having your bank note catch on fire. Or losing your wallet. Also I don't think that's how that works. I'll tell you this much, I'm not planning on keeping my money under my mattress or the floorboards.
no, I honestly wouldn't take it that far either
but I've been i enough cases where I couldn't pay with my card and had to resolve to using cash and if you don't have any on you, you're in a bit of a mess
like the bank system in Luxembourg for the electronic cashiers was down for a whole day once and people couldn't pay with their cards anywhere and it was a whole mess
sure, super unlikely to happen, especially in bigger countries to happen to the whole country, but I've seen it happen a bunch of times that not having cash in the end just meant not being able to get what you wanted, which just sucks even more if you want to buy groceries or essential care items that you really do need at the moment
I still have a few bank notes in my wallet but coins are absolutely useless.
