You can ask anything you wanna, that's your right, for me the point is rather that I would've just worded things differently or gone and asked elsewhere considering I could not tell you how it'd affect the other members of the team and if it'd affect them badly

I'd personally ask if the team is alright and alive first, and then I'd ask more questions since for all you know something really bad happened, and well, for me, it'd be really awkward to discover that I have asked all I wanted and the answers or results is "yeah something REAL bad happened so that is why..." and ofc I would not want to put people on the spot with such a thing

with me, I guess it's different as I have the role of an admin here so it IS in a way my job to answer to such topics, no matter how ugly or bad things get, I have signed up for that after all, but not the others

Better yet I would ask personally in a private message as I think it's the more appropriate place for personal questions, and usually, people feel more comfortable answering things privately!

I was a "burning" questions for me(since I was about o suggest some ideas)  and I have seen others also "asking" publicly about what's going on with teams but yeah I see your point!
