Update: I a fourth of the way with that checkered blanket now!

Also i bought a bunch of folding baskets for my yarn. I still have too much yarn, but i took out what i use and the yarn i like the most and put the rest away.
I thought i could fit one more... Hope i don't need the yarn for a bit, because it's kind of showed under my table with millimeters to spare.

Man I have some yarn I bought before I knew what I know now about yarn and my preferences and I don't know what to do with it, I just tucked it away in shame😭

who where gonna tell me, that making something as big as a blanket, takes damn fucking time. Pew.. I finished my 12th square out of 40 (12 out of 20 of the white ones at least). It's going faster these days though, i finished 4 squares yesterday and today. not a lot, but considering it's been weeks just making the other 8.. lmao.

One does simply not crochet with black yarn in the dark.. I need to do a 3 chain single crochet and i had to give up.

I could use my stich markers, but i would need to move them every two seconds.

Pls and that's with crochet, knitting would take so much longer. The other day I saw a post on reddit of someone's fo of a FINGERING WEIGHT knit blanket, people are mental.

Im trying to ger into knitting  but I do t really have the time for it sadly! Currently working on a pair of gloves but kept messing up so I kinda put the project to the side cause I got frustrated. I have made a cute little sweater for my cat though!

I mentioned to my boss I’ve been knitting though, and now she’s super enthusiastic about showing me her knitted things and helping me with stuff and giving me cool and beginner friendly patterns, it’s super sweet and has kind of made me feel motivated to try again! I just gotta find my knitting stuff since I moved recently

Also I find just making like basic stitches very relaxing but as soon as you have to start counting and junk I just completely start messing up cause I’m bad at keeping track of where I am and keep getting distracted

I recommend buying locking stitch markers like these and marking everything you think you might need. You can use different colours for different things you mark and write down what each colour means. I do that and it spares me the worry of maybe fucking up in the future lol.

Oh I do have those, though not as nice looking as those! But I like,,, forget what like the last stitch was yanno,,,  or what row I’m on in general,,, and I’m not good enough yet to differentiate/count what I’ve already made haha

I always end up ripping things up like multiple times because it’s always wrong somewhere rip

I'm the same, totally the same! Luckily there is still alot of nice crochet, that keeps it simple!

right now im making a checkered blanket. Every square is 20 chains wide and 22 row high. All i have to keep track off, is setting a single line on my paper and then putting the stitch markers in the end stiches, so i can tell where to end it each row!

You can put a stitch marker every say 10 rows to make it easier.
This video is helpful if you're having trouble counting rows.
