Nono I definitely get it, it's a terrible dilemma... I mean you can definitely try to just say you slept bad, it's just a really bad excuse, but I also see your point of not wanting to excuse it with bellyache/headache etc .... ):

Honestly I might just say migraine, I used to have chronic migraines evri day a few years ago until I figured out how to fix it, so I don't have migraines anymore but my head do be starting to hurt when I sleep bad so at least its not a complete lie, and I don't have to try to explain the not sleeping thing lol

i think it greatly depends on your working space! i work in healthcare so i think it would be okay to say there, however, in corporate settings i think people won't understand 

also -- isnt asking the reason illegal? here in the nl it is
