it's an alphabet but the mix of two (or more, really im kind of ignorant haha) letters lets you know what tone to read it in but honestly i don't know how to read since i've lived in the netherlands my whole life and only come to thailand every year to visit my family but that's it hahaha

nah bilingual technically means you've learnt both languages growing up, so you have two native languages i guess. We discussed it in linguistics and talked about how it's starting to become grayer and where you would draw the line since people learn a second language at a young age and so on, but by current definition, I'm not bilingual and a lot of people who claim they are aren't : P
