we read 'der steppenwolf' last year in german class and that kinda triggered a bad depressive episode for me

i m reading it again atm and its no problem now but back then ,,,, oof
uhhhh to include some more infos 'der steppenwolf' is a fictional text about someone whos   depressed, doesnt fit it and it ends with maybe? suicide, isnt clear allthough its kinda implied that it could be suicide

and that rlly fucked me up, bcs i think it described as certain stage of having depression that i was rlly feeling at that time? hard to explain

german class in general was hard for me at times because somehow someone thought it would be a good idea to have the only two books we ve had to read be about depression and suicide

you can be triggered by somethng without having ptsd
i find it hard to believe that, but ill take your word for it since i haven't really read a lot about it

however, the fact that someone is triggered by reading a word on vp is just crap in my opinion, thats not a trigger its munchausen
yah. triggers are for mental illnesses in general. if you have social anxiety, crowds can trigger a panic attack. if you have depression, something can trigger a depressive episode. if you have an eating disorder something can trigger that.

i dont like how "trigger" is used when talking about ~~~crazy~~~ sjws because it waters down the word and changes meaning. normally, id argue that thats just how language evolves, but when it has one clinical definition, its actually important to stick to that
same
whenever someone use it im just like ew
or when its used against someone else because they seem angry/upset

dissociation conversations may trigger me to dissociate since I used to dissociate many times of day so bad I couldn't remember who I am in the past but if they do trigger it's not bad dissociation anymore.

I used to be like triggered when I heard women yell for their daughters like "girls" in the tone my mom would when she was sick. I'd have like a moment of panic and think I needed to go help my mom even tho I was miles and miles away and mom isn't as sick anymore.

But like I had therapy so that doesn't bother me like it used to.
