i just watched the anime adaptation of Rumiko  Takahashi's Mermaid Forest but that might not be exactly what you're looking for
It's been on my plan to watch anime list for quite some time, is it any good? and as long as it has mermaids/sirens it's good enough for my list

the manga was better but it wasn't too bad.  i actually think it's one of Takahashi's better works. her more popular series Inuyasha and Ranma go on forever and ever and they sort of start to repeat themselves, but her mermaid Saga sets out to tell a story and then ends when the story is over. It's interesting to see the ah Japanese take on mermaids. There's a lot that's the same and a lot that's different from western stories and it might be worth checking out just for that aspect alone if mermaids are like your THING you know.  i enjoyed it. watched the whole thing in about a week. i'd read the manga when i was a lot younger tho so i might have had some nostalgia goggles on while watching the anime. but i do think the story holds up to the test of time.

Yeah, Brazillian have a large folklore about mermaids but unfortunelly it isn't very publicized, but this short animated don't have dialogues (only a few in the beginning but you dont need to understand what they're saying to undertand the story). I'll link ithere if you want to take a look, It's called "Iara - Juro que vi" (Iara - I swear I have seen)

Sorry for talkign so much haha but I love yor list
