Okay from what I read 316L (which is the type of surgical steel the bee is) is implant grade, so I think I'm good with that. As for the other one, it's silver which scared me but I could just wear it in my ear. I'd love to know what you (Kieren) as a professional think about silver though.
As long as it's really silver 100% silver, problem is my old jeweler and most jewelers either add nickle(severe allergies are normal with nickle) or copper for filler.

The copper filler has been fine for me for a hand rings but I wouldn't trust it for body jewelry as that goes through my body.

There are different grades of 316L
You'd be looking for astm-316L
If it doesn't have that in front of it, it's regular steel.
Low quality brands like body Candy try to lie about stuff like that.
There's a reason it goes against my shops policy's to insert it.
I can't seem to find any information about the difference between astm-316L and just 316L, or any information about what astm 316 means for piercings, for that matter. Do you happen to know of any online resources that can explain it to me? With all due respect, I'd rather have my information from multiple sources and not just some person on the internet.

As a tattoo apprentice I know too much about piercing too. 😅
I'll be helping my piercer train the new piercing apprentice in may.
I woulda done it myself but I wanted to tattoo more.

My info is directly from an APP piercer, so maybe on the APP site?
APP = association of professional piercers.
All professional jewelry companies are required to have milling certificates.
Which I promise you body Candy and the other brands will never be able to provide.

There's a brand we wanted to work with but they couldn't provide milling certificates, essentially meaning they were using something subpar and didn't want to disclose it via the milling certificates.

Also, I'd love to ask you some other questions, if you don't mind.
Most septum jewellery I can find is 16 gauge and most places I've seen online state that that is the norm, but my piercer said he was piercing me with 18 gauge and that 16 is too big to start off with. Also by the looks of it, my piercing seems to be 16 gauge so I really don't know.
Another thing is I'm scared my piercings placement isn't right, like I'm pretty sure it is in the so called sweet spot but it's not as close to the end as most piercings I see online are, is that okay?

For sure I don't mind, I have to go to work at some point but I have no clients booked so I will probably just be drawing.

Septum are standard 16g but can be pierced larger.
We don't recommend 18g because of the cheese cutter effect.
Essentially when something is too thin and gets pulled it will actually rip straight through like a wire.
Which is why I pierced all my nostrils at 16g for preference, standard is 18 but I've seen one get ripped straight out.
My septum is stretched to 8g but I wear a 14g clicker in it.

For placement I would only worry about it being too low in the soft tissue or being too high like piercing through actual thick cartilage.
If it happens to be slightly crooked? It can be due to deviated septum, they usually try to work with that.
You can always message me a picture ? I have seen some crazy stuff.

I don't think I have particularly sensitive skin, I've put some very sketchy jewellery in my ear piercing before and it never caused any irritation at all so I think I'll be fine with 316L stainless steel. Hopefully. I'm good with having something good, even if it's not the absolute best and from my understanding that is good.

Huh, interesting. Thank you so much. I think it's probably not 18 gauge but rather 16 gauge because I don't think it's too thin but maybe it is? I don't know. I've heard about the cheese cutter thing, scary shit, reminds me of that bitch that split her own tongue lol, terrifying.
My piercing is definitely not too low but I fear it may be too high? Only because when I did it it did hurt and I heard that if it's done right it should be one of the least painful piercings, but maybe I just don't have a good idea of the pain scale since the last time I pierced something was my nose and the piercer put numbing cream on it for some reason.

The raven scull one is sterling sliver but it says it's nickel and lead free so it should be fine, no?

I thought mine was too high,
But my piercer said it's perfect.
Which is weird because it's was by me at 16 like a dumbass.
Which I do not recommend or condone.
I wear 5/16 diameter ring and I guess to piercers that's like the perfect size. 🤷 IdkIt's real snug to the bottom of my nose and over time I've come to like that look

Oh no, bad idea, bad bad bad.
That's 8mm, right? I think that might be a bit snug for my liking, I think I prefer 9mm but we'll wait and see.

Yeah I think it's about that size.
I've started wearing really intricate septum clickers so it being so snug is perfect.
I started liking small jewelry now I'm like bling or go home.😂

That's the thing though, I don't love closed septum rings, I prefer horseshoes, except for when there's something fun on it, like a bee.
