curly hair is a struggle

World Famous

I feel this.
Never understood why my hair was so gross and tangled 24/7 as a kid bc I was taught to treat my hair like straight hair.
I've been trying the curly/wavy method for a while now and I still can't figure out what's right for me.
I'm so jealous of people with naturally straight hair. I can't deal w/ this frizzy mess rn.

i dont do much other than, wash, condition (leave it in) and brush right after showering. i think it looks okay

try only combing it through with your fingers instead of a brush
ok ok comb with fingers and or brush while in shower with conditioner
yea try to not separate ur curls/waves/whatever that much, cause thats what causes the frizz
or i mean, could also be ur hair products
u want a shampoo without sulfates and a conditioner without silicone if i remember correctly
i'm using this new curly hair shampoo to see if it can help or maybe activate my hair. it's been working amazingly so far but my curls tend to flatten out after i go to sleep. it doesn't have sulfates or silicone in it so that's good! however... i don't use a conditioner so i think that might be the problem

Conditioner is super important.
As for your hair losing it's curl when you sleep, there's methods to preserve it as best as possible. Something you could look into anyway.

i use the olaplex one, it’s expensive tho so im thinking abt moving to some other brand cus i go thru a lot of conditioner

and i use conditioner every time i shower (i only shampoo abt once a week if that), let it sit and do it’s job in my hair for ~5minutes and sometimes, not always i brush my hair before rinsing it out

i have olaplex too but i only used it once because it felt like it straightened and made my hair more frizzy? i shower twice a week and i use the curly shampoo and hair oil after the shower, but i'll have to give olaplex a chance
