nepotism on vp is less severe than what is the case irl that's my hot take
i mean obviously u r gonna find more severe examples irl
i mean it's obvious that at least some of the teams are unfathomably biased when they add new members, i'm not going to specify what teams because you need to be straight up blind not to see it

but it bothers me more irl because irl it's about money and actual comfort whereas on vp being a team member is suffering because someone will be @ you for poorly representing the team as if all team members belong to a cult and must be divine and flawless always
true enough, the only time i remember truly being bothered by something nepotism related on here was just team related annoyances

i think it's hard 2 avoid considering how small the community is and most people having a bunch of friends that represent the majority of the community
like my friendlist is quite big and i feel like that itself is maybe like 1/4 of the community or something ?

so like yea there are going to be a lot of biased stuff wether intentionally or not

i think it's only visible team related, i think it's striking that many teams have the exact same members

theres also some internal team structures that are a bit skewed imo, but yes very much agreed

there are ways to be less biased, e.g. if all teams operate with things like this when they pick new members:

would still be hard 2 prove it's not biased tho or that it is
like what if it isn't biased but everyone says it is because said person happens to be friends with the leader of the team ?
or what if it is biased but everyone saying it can't be because they don't have any visible friendships on vp, while it could be that they know multiple of the team members outside of vp
these r just examples
like u would have 2 put ur trust into the words of the people n their judgement n how would one know ?

like, it's not as easy as going after a form either, because it could easily be untruthful to favour people
i don't think it's possible to have stuff that aren't biased in one form or another
