the kids who can afford to come to the salon have multiple 120 dollar dolls 

mostly the parents do the tipping but sometime they give money to the girl and say 'give this to the girl and say thank you' lol and im like 'oh wow im part of her learning how to tip lmfao
I figured American girl Dolls arent cheap

I got a samantha when I was 11 and we were poor af back then idk who bought it 4 me but it was lovely

Maybe I should think about the joy I bring ppl rather than how I resent making them fruit bowls they're to lazy to make themselves that  I can barely afford to buy myself

i get some customers who clearly do NOT have the money to afford these dolls come in with a really dirty one and i get it fixed up nice for them. iwe can do a lot to get it fixed up though.

like people are finding a way to get these things to their kids if they want them.

no i really dont. lol. because this is just a job. its temporary. it's fun for a minimum wage job. if i get resentful its time to move on to the next thing.

I remember being shocked I got a new one cuz I understood we weren't well off, I took very good care of samantha, I read her books all the time 

I know my step sisters get these generic dolls as an alternative to their main line, idk the brand name tho
