i've never not been offered to join meals as a guest in another persons home
i dont even care about this thing
i am more interested in how they managed to make this a race issue ????????? i was mostly shocked about this
how does this make sense

when i was vegetarian i did not expect for other families to accomodate to my needs ???

pls what
even if those people did that because they were stingy assholes its like.. one incident doesnt speak for the entire country and the populations culture lol. i was a vegan for like 5 yrs and not only did i not expect people to accommodate for me (especially if i don't inform them of it beforehand) but in most cases, people still tried to do their best to provide for me as their guest
and also at the end of it all: no one actually owes u anything even if u are a guest. its just general hospitality which most people
will offer
this is where the cultural differences are mainly bc in the southern states it is like. a punishable by law social crime to not fatten your guests like they havent seen food in 2 years if they come to ur home. its like an insult to not feed guests. i think thats where a lot of the uber dramatic reactions to this are coming from
