i studied english linguistics for a year and the moment i dropped out all this stress to be perfect at english  just vanished into thin air and i have never cared abt my spelling, my grammar, my accent ever again. truly freeing experience
i should do the same.. i feel like either way i'll never really speak "perfect" english so perhaps.. i'll be non perfect at english and free and it will be okay... thank u for making me see the light bexxi
i think the key to learning any language is not being afraid of mistakes and accepting that you will always make mistakes
this is true.. i think this is also how i relieved myself from so much stress when writing in german. i always had to remind myself before exams that if i can't find the fanciest way to put it, i'd just have to settle for the most basic sentences ever as long as it does the job. just use easy baby words as long as you're arguing your point!!!

because of me being obsessed with the sims around the same time you guys were obsessed with baulder's gate i kinda feel like baulder's gate makes you feel the same way you do when you play the sims and i have gone on sims retirement (i've become too old to enjoy it)

god german especially ,... like how are you supposed to just learn the genders of every word, which are all just made up and not rooted in some system?

it's so sad though because i noticed i wasn't enjoying the sims like my child self did and ! it's okay... i've accepted my fate... i think the sims gameplay has become too advanced and fancy and modded for my taste like everything is too...... modernified... but also i don't like the sims 2 (sorry) so i'll never touch that (sorry)

it's diabolical, what really fucks me up is the cases, especially dativ and genitiv omg.. but that's just the very beginning......

for instance german's habit of combining words together... like yeah abschreiben and nachschreiben are two completely different words but here we are. although honestly it's become so natural to me to distinguish combined words and i'm really glad it has, which shows to me that even if you're not perfect at language the learning process is so seamless as long as u just.. make use of it, whether ur doing it right or wrong, and that's amazing!!

yes i think sims always required a degree of playing pretend thats harder to achieve with a video game like that as an adult and makes more sense to get to experience through art and writing , n now that sims enjoyer are adults everyones trying to recreate it thru mods and hoping for new game play thatll make it more like the stories in out heads but it dun rly happen

im sorry u dont have good taste in sims game tho my condolences (sorry)

omg because this is what gets me about the sims 2, the aspiration meter always has me stressed out like i don't want my sims to get constant therapy!! what if i just wanted relaxing borderline sandbox gameplay!!! its system is too complex for me, as amazing of a game it is, i cannot play it i'm not a real gamer......

all my sims gameplay has just been single to family so maybe it's on me for not doing anything else, also the last time i played i had a limited amount of expansions so maybe that's why i got so bored and disillusioned with the game.... but honestly though when you think about it, without all the add-ons, sims really ain't ALLL that..... this was the sims 3 though, i weep for sims 4 players
