beastars: haven't seen this, the only fragment i have seen is this bunny groping a wolf and it put me off the series for good (thanks twitter)

sense8: one of my fav shows! i really loved the diversity of it, the concept, the emotional and the humorous! so bummed it was canceled but i guess it was too expensive to produce. one of the early gems of netflix originals

hannibal: i really loved this show! also really bummed about its cancelation. i guess it was because s4 was a significant change from the previous seasons (much slower paced and more arthouse), but i also like the 'ending' of them falling into the sea. i guess it's poetic of some sorts?
nooooo beastars is great 😭😭 it's a rly smart well done series but ppl tend to just take the surface part ("hehe furry xD sex stuff xDD" ) n it's all that ppl know sdgfhgdf
beastars is if zootopia was a realistic social commentary for adults. also the worldbuilding is great and the fact that theyre animals is actually important for the context n not just because they could
haha yes i know, i read about that yeah. i might check it out since it's on netflix anyways
im just very excited abt it since it's probably the best manga series ive ever read n that says a lot
tho im kinda worried with the direction theyre going. but it's wild and i love it. a deer joining a lion mafia. fighting with a murderer for fun and justice. eating your best friend's leg. leopard-antellope hybrid. best grandpa in any series ever

hereditary: i liked it! it was very much hyped on social media so i gave it a go. i found it nice and creepy (also spoiler; the sister's head being cut off was so shocking LMAO).

the grand budapest hotel: chose this movie to watch for a school project and absolutely loved it! i loved the humor and the aesthetic and the absurd story. really look forward to his new movie the french dispatch but it has been delayed bc of corona CRY

arrival: i liked this! a very different type of alien story but i think it had a great concept. also, execution was amazing. the way we were tricked that (spoiler) she lost the baby before the movie started instead of after? the way she decided to keep the child knowing it would die? very insightful message and emotional

haven't seen the rest!

9-1-1 (+ 9-1-1: Lone Star)
Almost Human
Grimm
In the Flesh
Westworld

(I will add more if I can think about any more)
i have heard of in the flesh, it was very popular for a bit but i never watched it

westworld. i really liked the first and second season! 9/10
but the third season kind of fell off for me. i am not a fan of the western aesthetic so i was really looking forward to the robots being in the real world. but i felt the storytelling to be a bit chaotic and i felt that aside from the amazing visuals, they had a bit too much on their plate. i think s3 would've benefited from a more concise storyline.

i do really enjoy the metaphor that dolores is adam, as she is the one that all other robots were made from. the virus being the forbidden fruit that would give the robots their consciousness, thus being able to see the 'reality' (distinguish good from evil). eventually dolores would be the one to forgive mankind, giving her a Godlike role, instead of destroying mankind, she allowed them to live despite their sins.

oh, do watch it, it is amazing
I never really got into zombies, but this one is really well made and zombies truly aren't the focus as like in twd or others

for westworld, I kinda stopped after getting to season 2, because I needed some time away from the cruelty of humanity (but no worries, I don't feel spoiled!). I really like the concept of the sjow though, because it truly isthe most intriguing concept of sci-fi

Moonrise Kingdom

(not a favourite but one I watched recently and honestly, I didn't get the hype so I'm curious to see what others think xD. I love Wes Anderson but I only loved bits of this film)

i see that wes anderson made this movie so i guess i have to see it haha

also definitely relate to being let down on a movie/show that is hyped. sometimes i think it's because of the hype that i am let down, which sucks

saaaaammeee!
I still do it on stuff just to give me a ballpark for future reference but they're bs xD

I can give one of my all-time favourite films a 3 star cause I know it's shit but it's my shit
3 star is like my default for everything honestly xD 3 can be anything from "neutral" to "I hated it but I can see why other's like it" to "I would die for this film"

haha that's what I thought!! The only other I've seen is Grand Budapest but I'm dying to watch Fantastic Mr. Fox and Isle of Dogs

honestly same. like I watched Lady Bird a month or so ago and honestly hated it. I might've liked it a few years ago but it was too damned angsty for me to truly enjoy it. I really wanna watch Little Women though cause Gerwig's cinematography is amazing!

damn haha, i never give ratings because my opinion on a show changes drastically over time (also they're not accurate measurements anyways) my fav films/series are not my fav because they're technically the best, it's because they mean a lot to me personally so i def understand you. i put stuff as favorite when they've had a major impact on my development.
