It's a bad coping mechanism. I always get the sense people like that are trying too hard to be likeable, which ends up being counterproductive. Like, remember that Oscars speech Anne Hathaway did? She admitted she was in a bad mood and trying to cover it up b/c she got called out. People can spot a fake.Â
I dont think people are obliged to talk about their personal lives or feelings... but cheery facades are creepy af. At least be honest
i also think its funny if ur not cheery and smiley depending on situation people ask whats wrong are you angry like no im just neutral calm down
