We don't really have politicians who explicitly go on about sex and stuff like that in public it's really not a top priority
Yeah I was just giving an example, I was thinking more of an activist, excuse me. Is that a no?
I generally avoid the debate, there is too much shit going on in it and I can't see myself agreeing with any side. Same goes for the discussion in this thread, you're all wrong. It is and remains more nuanced than the debate currently appears to express.
I agree that it is more nuanced but I don't think there is quite an objective truth here or anywhere, and I think you're being quite condescending in saying that we're all wrong. It's fair if you disagree with all of us but we're all, for the most part, reasonable people here, I don't think anyone here is logical in the way they came to their conclusions. I'm assuming, I haven't paid close attention to the thread.

like i said, i feel like when it's about trans people its only a problem when its coming from bisexual people bc then i feel like its truly just coming from a dislike for trans people (or not 'agreeing' with out lifestyle or not believing its an actual thing n we are jsut delusional) or hidden assumptions they have about trans people (like all trans women have a low voice or all trans men are small or sth) bc u cant say its bc of genital preference idk

but in the end it's like    the least of our problems, not sth to really actively focus on or worry about

like "stop forcing me to date trans people!!!! im not racist im a good person!!!!11 why are you calling me a monster?????" girl stop nobody cares that much

it's good to be aware of your biases and why they might exist and none of that makes you any less moral, the only thing that does is how you act that's all im gonna say

That's the thing though, you're asserting that they are biases rather than a biological trait. Regarding being attracted to trans people, that is.

I think I agree? I haven't watched her videos in a while because honestly they're insufferable. Plus, her views on guns are so mental to me I just cannot take anything she says seriously when she holds such stupid opinions.
I'm ngl, her early videos were interesting. I didnt agree with most of what she had to say, but I appreciated her perspectives as a conservative trans women. She made a video discussing how ppl treated her more kindly when she transitioned. She argued that was a form of female privilege tho. Disagree, think its benevolent sexism. I think that demonstrated the pitfalls of biological essentialism (even though she supports it lol) however.

When she jumped on the sjw cringe reaction train is when she went to shit. Didnt see the gun video, but last video I saw entailed her lying about a photo that was clearly blackface... I think shes a huge drama queen and misrepresents a lot of points and exaggerates stuff... idk how anyone can consider her well reasoned.

You a fan of Natalie Wynn/ContraPoints? She made a video about cringe culture and discusses Blaire's shift to focus on Jessica Yaniv. She argued that Blaire isnt really an anti-child abuse activist but a tabloid entertainer. One supporting argument she made is that an activist wouldn't debate a pedophile and sell meme merch derived from the debate. Completely agree.
I do and I have, it's a great video
Probably the best video shes made in awhile. I was getting disappointed with the direction her channel was going. It was a return to form.

Of course not, I'm talking about genital attraction, it is biological. You know exactly what I meant, I don't get your need to change people's arguments so you can get mad at them.

I've observed the discussion and I think the arguments are flawed and problematic on both sides, but I'm not invested enough to elaborate on why I think so. In general, though, I do agree with Claire that the lgbt+ debate appears to have shifted towards focusing on why someone's sexual preference is problematic because of bias rather than accepting that people like different things. People seems to be so sickly concerned about what other people are, do, and like. Why? Does it really matter? Most of us aren't going to reach 80 years old. It's a pointless debate trying to force people into the same kind of thought process. So what if people are biased, good luck trying not to be biased. I've yet to meet a person who has no bias towards anything, it's just how it is. We prefer some things over other things and it's going to be quite a wild ride if someone attempts to completely remove bias and make everything equal. It's just not going to work.
Does it really matter that people won't date x because of y? I don't think so. Would you even want to date someone who doesn't want to date you because of an aspect of your being is unappealing to them??? I certainly would not.
Again this makes no sense as usual because I keep losing track because of my headache lmao tragic excuse but it's really bad.

My ex is a trans guy but I still wouldn't lecture others on how they are possibly biased for not themselves wanting to date one? And no one else should either for that matter, it's inappropriate honestly

see you're putting arguments in my mouth again so you could somehow argue my point. at no point did i mention genital attraction but you'd rather just assume and try to argue your assumption.
try again

idk why you feel like mentioning your ex is relevant but ok good for you

again, everyone has biases and it's good to acknowledge them and im not sure how that's an attack on anyone

It's such a tricky thing honestly. I still think Riley went way too far in dismissing genital preferences, but I still dont see why its impossible for someone to overlook a person's genitals if they're otherwise attracted... I'm not saying you have to take dick if u dont want to either.

Idk I don't like taking the middle ground but I think attraction is a mix of biological and cultural influences. Exercise bodily autonomy, but also dig a lil deeper. I dont think digging deeper means you must force yourself to like people you're not into like some people seem to apply...

Idk... I think this shit is hard to explain.

Because it was an example... for context....
