Me too. I dont really care about this trend because when I start to notice that all types of mentalities on internet is basically just trends, I start to care less. My big goal is not to follow new trends on social media, but to start to go away from internet more and more. I am already making progress in letting my internet addiction calming down. I use the internet and my cellphone less and less.
i mainly use my phone for the same 3 coloring book apps, my spotify & reading fanfics. my computer is however my lifeline since i write and watch insane amount of asmr to calm me nerves.
but it has changed so much in the last 5 years, even 10 years ago it wasn't more peaceful sure, but it was a completely different vibe where u didn't *have* to be online 24/7 to be in the know or to be *woke* enough to not be sent to the shadow realm
plus i miss seeing ppl's anime shrines and blatantly stolen shit. ahhh. fandom was also way more fun in the livejournal days as well. now it's all abt making a name for yourself and building a brand that you can make money on, investing in your *hobbies* so you can *excel*. it's not abt just doing shit because it's fun, you *have* to make money on it.
Interesting. I have thought a lot about how I will gain information without the internet turned on 24/7 as I used to do, because something I will miss from the internet is to actually learn stuff. I liked to go to youtube everyday just to learn new stuff and to explore. So I realised I simply have to read more books so I still get new information. The problem is, or rather was, is that I got easily bored by books. So I had to make a plan. I have started meditating (again) for like 2 months ago (and already noticed improvement in my psyche), then I realised that when you use too much internet and social media, your dopamine system is imbalanced. So Im trying a dopamine detox by going away from internet as much as possible and meditating.
