Meh, German democracy is a pain in the ass too, you basically vote for different parties and then those parties have to find other parties to form a majority over 50% so they can rule and because the established parties get less and less votes its a mess, the last time it took like half a year till they agreed on a coalition 
and then a lot of it is that we value traddition and never changed things as media changed. like we could email votes but we dont we have people show up in person and tehy have enoough time to arrive by horse lmao.
I still think it's weird that it's not easier to vote by mail, here they send you a letter a month before the election, including a piece of paper you have to take with you if you vote in person and a form you fill out and send back for free if you want to vote by mail and they will send you the ballot.

I think he wasn't able to think far enough ahead to realise he reallöy didn't want this
because wanting this means just showing the people how they can abolish him too if there's someone even worse
