i'm grateful my uncle is just predominantly weird to himself.. or idk how it is now as he doesn't live in helsinki anymore but i asked my friend several times after we met him like was it okay because i was like shit he's like my dad and grandfather just unfathomably worse and more awkward

No I think it's more the fact that he has pretty much lived alone for 20 years, barely talk with people.. just in general barely left the apartment. I didn't understand anything he talked to his mate about but maybe a factor is that he's really not that good in Norwegian either so I mean it's possible he just got weirder because of that.

Yeah and just .. just weird. I mean .. he's nice and all but it was just like.. okay : ) 
And we visited his studio apartment and it was messy and he smokes inside and I sat like I hope to god my friend is okay with this
