There is more on this btw:

"The way to make sense of this result is if infants, with their pre-cultural brains had expectations about how people should act. Not only do they interpret the movement of the shapes as resulting from motivations, but they prefer helping motivations over hindering ones.
This doesn't settle the debate over human nature. A cynic would say that it just shows that infants are self-interested and expect others to be the same way. At a minimum though, it shows that tightly bound into the nature of our developing minds is the ability to make sense of the world in terms of motivations, and a basic instinct to prefer friendly intentions over malicious ones. It is on this foundation that adult morality is built."

in communism you can still choose what to do as a profession, and you are also not constrained by financial resources to remain at that profession. you can specialize in different hobbies/subjects
can i be a capitalist under communism

art under communism is possible. the idea of communism is that you will have plenty of free time to pursue other passions, and you do not have to produce art for profit. eg you can do what you want without worrying about finances

im just gonna quote some of my previous comments because this has been asked @Pavlov

this is a pretty common assumption that people make. if stuff is hard and you dont earn money, then why do it? but many people have answered this and i agree, to quote: "Cuba (communist country)has one of the highest number of doctors per capita, and on the opposite end of things the earliest healers predate currency or wealth accumulation. People have drives beyond those ascribed by the cynical individualism of modern capitalism."there are many reasons besides money that someone would want to help others and work hard for it.

people simply can't wrap their heads around the fact that people like to do things, for self-fulfillment or for others. we like to learn and do art and put effort into science because we have natural curiosity.a good example of communal effort without (direct) payback is open source projects such as wikipedia, linux, and many other programs. all of these are non-profit and organized by thousands of volunteers over the world. why do you think even under capitalism, people find a drive to do work without compensation?

but when I'm working what am I doing that benefits society?
