What matters is what is in your heart. If you hurt someone with the belief that you did something good, that is acceptable morally. The same result (somebody gets hurt) would be morally unacceptable if that person actually wanted to hurt that person.

Easy to say if you support a political party or an idea that shares a lot of your own views. Sometimes the water gets pretty muddy whenever you get to pick and choose what you support.
