imagine you live in an area with lots of farmers. these farmers will continue to support ideas that go against their well-being. they will vote for political parties that are making their lives difficult by destroying their crops, stealing their land, making sure they can barely survive by taking all their earnings just because they are farmers. these farmers do not understand that they are just hurting themselves no matter what you do.

that's why it's so frustrating to be surrounded by these type of people. they have no idea how anything works.

Why wouldn't I understnad? I don't have to imagine that, I've lived through that. I don't like going back there because it's a lost cause.

I'm going to make an assumption and say that you're from the US. Correct me if I'm wrong. You're right that I don't understand the politics of that country and what it feels like to live in the countryside of that country. But I am also from the countryside, from another country, and sadly taking advantage of farmers is a long tradition all around the world.

You can try explaining, but I know how thick-headed these people can be. All you can do is tell your perspective, hope they listen, and not bother any longer for your sake.
