No but imo the child should be allowed to do stuff without being bound to the parent, however the parent ofc needs to look over the kid to make sure they aren’t getting themselves in danger

if you’re too busy for that idk…
parents are humans too. if you have to walk in crowd with your toddler for example, i honestly can't judge if you use leash. or then your other option is just walk hand in hand, or carrying your child. you can't lose your attention even for a second and that's honestly just too much to ask from anyone. some kids are more lively than others, so of course there's kids that wouldn't run away, but there's also kids who are trying actively run away from their parents every change they get
yeah some areas are busier than others, it probably has to be looked on by individual cases but generally holding a kid's hands make more sense to me, could be cultural bias, could be functionality

i feel like if the leash is too long it's gonna block other ppl in where they walk and if it's too short it's gonna choke them or smth
do u think the leash is around their neck?
it's a harness

especially on public transport, yeah, then kids def needs to be leashed down.
like 2 weeks ago this little girl would continue to walk up and down the bus and talk to the driver, press buttons and talk to the other ppl on the bus meanwhile her mom desperately tried to get her to sit down but had her hands full w a tiny baby.
the girl then had a massive tantrum and started to kick, scream at and punch her mom ... like i'm sry, but leashed
tbh that just comes with raising a child... like your child won't always be an angel, especially not in public, it's normal to not always have control over your child. if you cant handle that, don't get a child bc a leash wont stop a tantrum / kicking / punching

My brother was so active and couldn't stay put, so he had to wear it. But only when in specific places and only at young age. Wasn't used often, but it was to protect him.

what is it for and why is it not bad parenting in your opinion then
"my brother used to get put on a leash due to his autism making him uncontrollable in the street"
that doens't answer my question
not every kid on a leash has autism
not every kid with autism is uncontrollable
a leash is not for kids with autism pe rse
sorry im a bit confused because how have u interpreted me giving an example of a child who needed a leash a generalization of autism ? im autistic too and im completely different from my brother so u didnt need to mansplain but i respect the effort to be correct at every little thing it seems exhausting

spoken like someone who has zero younger siblings and/or children who need to be protected from themselves lest they literally RUN INTO THE ROAD . i never knew this was a moral debate so im highkey bewildered rn
