The people who don’t work or attend school
are either wealthy
or they sell drugs
most folks I know who sell drugs have jobs lol
Maybe it’s a side gig
I knew a guy who bought a home
and had a mini fleet of vehicles
I’m definitely in the wrong profession

I guess I’m just curious as to how people
manage to live without any income
I think a lot of folks work under the table, and/or get benefits.
There's also a difference from region-to-region with how folks handle their poverty.

Lots of folks in my region have inherited their family homes (usually trailers and manufactured homes with low property taxes)

I also know a lot of folks who are on SSI/SSDI but their illness is more invisible, so they may look like they should be working, but are struggling with something that prevents it.

under the table work is pretty common where I am because folks who get SSI/SSDI can't survive on that amount, so they flip thrift store finds, or take on the odd one-off job to supplement.

I'm currently studying computing at uni. First year.
I have no idea what I want to do in the future. I only picked computing because it was what seemed most interesting, and because my boyfriend has a degree in computer science, so that way he can help me if I struggle, haha

Honestly, my wish is just to be a fulltime housewife. Maybe one day in many, many years, haha

Honestly, if it works out, I think it might be pretty good.
A lot of jobs in tech allow you to work from home multiple days a week. Like, my bf is only in office two times a week, and as long as he meets his deadlines, it doesn't really matter when he gets his work done.

I feel like that would be ideal for me in the future tbh, as I feel more productive in the evening, and being able to sleep in most days sounds amazing.
