yes yes yes exactly! it's too much play pretend for me to enjoy now as an adult lmfao, like you said i prefer to experience that through other kinds of media. but yeah i just don't like the whole storytelling aspect i am just not imaginative enough to do any of that, i'm not entertained enough by fantasy 💔💔 .. it also explains why the sims was 100 times more enjoyable to me as a kid when i just sat beside my sister and watched her play than when i played it myself LMFAO.. i'm made to be a let's play watcher i fear..

god german especially ,... like how are you supposed to just learn the genders of every word, which are all just made up and not rooted in some system?
it's diabolical, what really fucks me up is the cases, especially dativ and genitiv omg.. but that's just the very beginning...... 

for instance german's habit of combining words together... like yeah abschreiben and nachschreiben are two completely different words but here we are. although honestly it's become so natural to me to distinguish combined words and i'm really glad it has, which shows to me that even if you're not perfect at language the learning process is so seamless as long as u just.. make use of it, whether ur doing it right or wrong, and that's amazing!!
i love compound words tho! i think it makes learning a language easier too. Not speaking about german because thats my native language, so im blessed by knowing if u use dativ or genetiv instictively

english: wrist, ancle,
germy: handgelenk, fußgelenk (hand or foot + joint)
japanese: 手首、足首 (tekubi, ashikubi ... hand or foot + neck)


like yeah, the english word is shorter and german gets a lot of shit for being "so long", but sometimes thats a good thing? because saying hand joint and foot joint describes what the word is, not like ancle or wrist, which are words you just  have to memorize

oh i definitely agree that once you get past the stage of being confused as a beginner, it becomes very convenient to use those words yes! because you just automatically know what ab, ent, ver, etc. in combination with a certain word will result in yes. 

ohh the whole german being too long thing is nonsense yes....although my difficulty lies in how sometimes i don't know what certain words in the compound words mean, so my brain is just scattering to understand what it might mean in context bhsnhsbas but yeah.. this mostly happens with amtsdeutsch though! always pulling my leg smh smh

i swear it's diabolical, especially when paired with how hardcore german bureaucracy is ...

but at least i'm getting more exposure to more complicated german through my philosophy teacher so  i think in a few years i'll get the hang of it...
