i agree that there's too much fuss about accidentally misgendering someone, if you adressed someone with a gendered term/the wrong pronouns and they correct you just apologize and use their correct form of adress from now on, simple as that.

If it makes you feel better, hens usually lay unfertilized eggs so it's more like you're eating the chicken's period which isn't less gross probably but I'm used to it given that we have hens
