but salt would be boring, and because croissants lean more towards sweet than salty sugar seemed more appropriate.. it's supposed to be a contrast between salty and sweet! if it was salt then it'd just have been painful to eat
You cannot rave about contrast between savory and sweet and act like eating this exact thing with soft cheese or feta is more weird than with a cheese slice!!!!!
