Uh no, not at all. But yeah, I don't agree either with political lesbianism, since lesbianism/homosexuality in general isn't an option or something you can choose to be
Then what is it?
I always saw just bisexual girls who call themselves bi lesbians. Never really saw anything they said that was related to political lesbianism. I guess it's just to look "cool" or "quirky" for taking the term "lesbian"
I don't see the problem with that though? I'm pretty much bisexual but I identify as gay because I don't want to date a woman (the dynamic scares me), is that wrong too?

If you're bisexual and only want to date men, you're still bisexual. Because you're attracted to both females and males
The problem here is that it harms gay men and lesbians because it implies that lesbians and gay men aren't actually homosexual, but rather bisexuals (which is false). That's why it's problematic

You can not identify with being homosexual, you either are or are not, you get me?

Like, you can date only men if you want to, but since you're attracted to both females and males, you're still bisexual. That's ok

No it doesn't. It's not that deep mate. I'm functionally gay.

Gay means that you're exclusively attracted to males. You can be bisexual and just want to date one sex

I don't identify as homosexual, I functionally am. Sexuality is a spectrum, you can't expect everyone to fit neatly into any of your preconceived categories.

Being a lesbian or being gay isn't a spectrum. You either are exclusively attracted to your same sex, or you're not

Well I'd argue the vast majority of people aren't. Does that mean everyone is bisexual? Does it even fucking matter? I don't think so, it's just words, they don't intend to hurt anyone and they don't by definition harm anyone.

that may be ur definition, but sexuality is much more fluid than those strictly defined categories

if those categories work for u, great ! use em ! but policing other people on the language they use to best describe their own identity is perhaps not only unnecessary but counterproductive

It's the literal definition of lesbian and gay (referring to men)
Trying to redefine terms that are so important to gay men and lesbians is harmful

Lesbian= female attracted exclusively to other females
Gay (referring to men)= male attracted exclusively to other males
Redefining these terms are harmful. It's not an spectrum, we are attracted to our same sex

i guess the spectrum would be bisexuality then.. if ur 10% attracted to men but 90% attracted to women ur still bi (allegedly dont quote me on dis im stupid)

Anyone who is attracted to both sexes, is a bisexual person. Bisexual doesn't mean 50-50, THAT'S an spectrum
