people who rlly chosed skam over skins....
skins walked so skam could even exists.. skam is rlly indeed good, but cant compare to skins smh
Just because something was there before does not make it automatically better.
Skam is a more realistic portrayal of teenage live, with more grounded characters, it feels almost like a documentary. Choosing non-professional teenage actors added such a natural and realistic feel to the series and some of them are really talented. The writing was really good throughout the whole series and Julie Andem made her vision work very well, by directing every episode herself.
Skins is an enjoyable and scandalous teen drama, with entertaining characters, but it was good just for the first 3 seasons or something. After that it got really messy, sometimes even pretty awful. Some of the characters did not look like they were teenagers. Yes Kaya is good looking, but she is a horrible actress honestly.
nono what i am saying at all! : D
but no i dont agree, skins is also a realistic portrayal of teenage live, maybe the killings were a bit too much... but drugs, weed, drinking, partying and getting shitfaced are reality for some people in that ages. both series are realistic imo, difference is skins are actually talking way more about which problems teenagers can face... vilde did also had an ED, but they talked SO vain about it, where skins was harsh and honest about everything, which i rlly liked.. and at least had a little better diversity in it, but still lacking tho. but none the less realistic or not, doesnt make a show better or less better imo, i just think skins talked about some topics that are rlly important to talk about and sometimes those things has to be "exaggerated", bc sometimes that is also the honest true, but it's hidden away in today's society and we therefore maybe dont experience the "exaggeration", cause funny enough is mentally illness, struggling at home, struggling with ppl acceptance or whatsoever is taboo for some(/mayb even a lot of) people
but true true about "Choosing non-professional teenage actors added such a natural and realistic feel to the series and some of them are really talented."
but there's a reason for why you dont want to choose character the same age/looking the same age as the character... but the answer it maybe a bit touche for my reasoning why i think skins is good
It's all a matter of opinion. I think Skins often just tried to hard, it's motivation to tell the stories was either to be funny or to be dramatic and that is not necassarly good storytelling. Skam's intentions seemed more to take away fear for teenagers.
