like, I don't know how to really value this, because I for instance get told often times that me and my brothers (me 24, them 22 and 21) are way too "mature" and basically ol acting for our age, way too serious and all. and it might be true, because most of the time we spend time with someone our age, we feel like being supervisors in a kindergarten. (ok, granted, kindergarterners would know better how to behave and what not to do). it might also just be that you are the one standing out of the actual generation and not her. (which kinda means the future is fucked, but what's new, it has been since forever, so who cares)
i generally believe her gen is wretched. 
something happened in those 5 years and i'm again fucking overjoyed of not being in the same gen as her, i wouldn't be able to handle it, it seems so insidious and being a SUPERIOR INDIVIDUAL really is the great big agenda. 
not saying it wasn't like that before, but damn, it has become so violently prominent now w the internet, because everyone think their opinion matters more than the others and they refuse to admit they wrong. 

well to be fair, you might end up in the same generation as her when they regroup them after they actually have enough data to truly form the generations...

2000-2003/2004ish were around when technology rly started changing. My little brother got to know and use VHS and older consoles like the gamecube, but I don't think he ever had to own a flip phone lol. 
Memory isn't perfect, but I don't think smartphones were very widespread until I was in my first or second year of high school. (so around 2012-2014 is when it likely started replacing our basic flip phones. I was around 13-15 during that time).

hm, I get what you mean, but I think what they now call Gen Z is way more materialistic and fatalistic than Gen X ever was, because Gen X was actually a very comfortable one

No, like 1 generation, one generation should be the parents, and the kids, grandkids, one generation, aka its just a generalized family generation but it matches up w my family tho (I think)
