my anti fuhoshi-esque stance is that a lot of the m/m content specifically meant for straight women (ie yaoi and like half of the stuff under BL ) still pushes the characters into a lot of heteronormative roles n shit, and generally arent interested in portraying actually realistic gay relationships bc their target audience isnt gay men lmao

but yeah i hear a lot of women say they prefer m/m content bc it  relieves them of the pressure of the male gaze n sht like that, which sound pretty reasonable to me
