Not to be a hypocrite but I must say, the earl grey head mod is very nice, I like how it makes the dolls look more petite like porcelain dolls or sth.
Is that the 3/4 head mod or
Yeah
i feel like earIs kinda capture more of that old school avi pixel vibe quite well, as opposed to the one claire poster here for example, se even if it doesnt look super close to base avi it kinda fits with the theme of the website

well I don't know how extreme it is now, but for instance when it comes to the badges
a lot of users were really adamant about needing very specific badges for the specific issue
instead of saying "we have a few general ones that encompass bigger groups of people" (knowing a bunch of users wouldn't be happy but it would still work out in general, like for instance the sexualities or the mental health ones - which are a whole new can of worms), they agreed to a whole lot of them. with the end result, that users are now fighting over this and that over-specific badge still missing and it not getting implemented
also the mental health badges are a nice idea when you think about it in isolation, but they have caused a whole lot of issues when it comes to discrimination and added a whole new level for trolling
then also the issue with the mature users who are like "we want to be able to talk about mature stuff and don't want to be limited to pg-13 topics". Yeah, well, ES has no real safety protocol for stuff like that, so they can't do it. you see how that's a big issue already with many kids entering the wrong age. I mean this is a common issue and has been ever since there was age restrictions on stuff on the internet. but if you are a site where you want to allow a platform for both adults and kids, you have to cater to the lowest age or you open up doors for abuse. this has happened, when they hadn't been thinking about this

also, more specific when it comes to the bodymods again
since there are so many body mods and there is the whole plus size and minus size thing, a lot of users are still mad about their 1:1 body not being in game. like "if so and so can have representation, I need it too" not realising that what most are asking for is impossible and that dress up games like these aren't meant for everyone to make a 100% customizable avatar (like for instance on imvr or what its called)
but when the discussions got loud, there was talk among the admins "oh hey, that's a great idea, yeah we totally need it". grantd, it's been 2 years now and nothing happened, but I guess that's like 75% down to poor management skills and finding someone who's willing to do the work and not necessarily because they ended up genuinely thinking about the implications for the game
For mental health badges, I think a general mental health badge is fine, and ones for autism and adhd uknow (idk if that classifies as mental health but u get what I mean hopefully), but when ppl want like borderline badge, schizophrenia badge, whatever badge, its going a bit too far, and idk why u would even want to show it so openly. I guess for some esp if they are not diagnosed, its like some type of "pride" in having all these illnesses (without even having them, who knows with these ppl tbh) but also they would literally put a target on their back for trolls, which then can personalize their "hate" or manipulation to that persons spesific illness. I just bruh
these children dont even realize how dangerous it is to label themselveslike this online

like 'im an autistic teenager who is questioning her sexuality and also has trauma' like you might as well say 'i am the prime target for a pedophile'

that is exactly it
like I am ok with people wanting to "own" (like put a visibility to) it and think it's good
but also, you're on a site where CHILDREN interact
people are stupid fucks until the age of 30, after there you've either matured enough to not act as shitty anymore or you're just a hopeless case (like people are still shitty, but most manage to control themselves at some point and interact halfway decent), so having a site where the average age is so low just begs for childish and immature (not judging, it's just what it is, they can't be put at fault for only having been alive for 14 years and not knowing shit) takes and ways to interact with these issues
it also doesn't actually help furthering visibility when all you do is use it as a shield to hide behind. it's part of who you are and how you see and interact with the world. but it's not the default for anyone and it's also no excuse to not try and be as social as you can be in a social environment you even chose to implement yourself in
websites like es or vp or anywhere else aren't real safe spaces and people should stop trying to idealise them as such
it only makes for more hurt and trauma and damage to the trust and all the other abilities you'll need to function in this world. no matter how wrong it is that this world imposes the necessity of these skills, it still is the case

Me when I see a sirt on an instagram ad for 25€ and I bougth the same shit from aliexpress for like 5-10€ max, lucrative business tho cus I assume honestly most ppl don't buy (and therefore don't think to check) on aliexpress and all those sites, so they just think ok 25€ for this shirt is good price

I saw an ad for a norwegian store too, that said they sell discounted military etc equipment that they don't need, and then all the comments were saying their products were 90% cheap shit from like aliexpress lol,,, its so weird fr. I saw some saying they had been to the physical store tho, and that there were good items there, but I assume its cus they put the good stuff in the shop, and the shitty stuff online, since u can't check it before buying

oh yeah dont get me wrong everyones doing it its just that the younger gen z's are like the perfect combo of young enough to online shop + not old enough + growing up with social media and being hyper focused on image + idividuality. And then the y2k stuff on top of that is partially all about maximalism  and in turn consumerism so.

This just reminded me, very unrelated, but youtuber talked abt how it was being a teen in general but esp mentally ill in the 90s, and she said it was so horrible cus ur so alone, u can like watch tv or read books or whatever n thats it right, while many young ppl now r like uwuw 90s wow what a great time, no smartphones to get distracted by etc. no spartphones is right, but I think it would just be extra horrible for a lot of ppl
