So there's little way to get out of the autism comment except deeply apologize to affected users, aknowledge your wrongs, and work to do better in the future.
On the other one, putting my good will and benefit of the doubt to it, I can see arguing freedom of speech as a principle. As you've learned, you get to say what you want but it will have negative or positive consequences. Fairly sure Norway is quite allowing of things like these under this right, but you get heavily policed w any public explay of support of unwanted ideologies, and u r probably overall monitored to some degree, and counter support happens. What I definitely see is... A extremely unfortunate timing and context for making that comment and sticking to it this long. You have now aknowledged that it was bad timing which, with what all I can give of validation, is fair enough. (would prefer one for unfortunate choice of context a well.) Everyone make mistakes. Now, it's time to show people that you know better (if that is what you want). That's how relations can mend and people start feeling safe around you again (based on what you stated about some feeling unsafe). Also think some proper apologies might be appropriate for especially affected users incl. real promises of change, aknowledge what you did wrong, and that you realise that it wasn't an appropriate setting, and how you will work for this to not happen again.
On recieving death threats, that's never okay from anyone no matter the context. I also don't support stalking and harassing people, justifying rudeness(mostly seen that on gsm tho), etc. Otherwise, I keep wondering why this happening keeps being brought up when it could be put behind us or dealt with privately long ago. Why did it randomly pop up yesterday when this happened two months ago?
