 take this hair for example. hover over it and it will show you statistics about it like the ig (in game) amount, if you own it, if it's in mp, if it's still available.
what you want is where it says 'average value' - this is how much it's typically been sold for most recently. so in this hair's case, it's been sold for 20cr (credits, the gold coins) or 3,000pd (popdollar, the green dollar) - sometimes that's been a combo (combination - this can be cr + pd, or cr + trade item etc.). 

it'll also allow you to add it to your wishlist or view the entire set it belongs to. it also tells you if it's a hall of fame set, wheel of fortune set, manager set or a diamond member set.

yup. 
go into the hair category and use the arrows that are in the top left corner (next to the hair main category) keep pressing the up arrow until it's over your top (typically about 4/5 clicks).
orrrr
go into the top category and use the down arrows. 

for hair combos, for example, say you've put on two hairs but want the second one beneath the first, then you use the arrows on the garment.
