I don't really want children but that's besides the point. That is their own choice and it should have nothing to do with me. But also even just the label grandparent is yucky to me, I feel old at 18, I wouldn't want to feel old at 60. Also also once I'm done raising my children, why would \I want to help them raise their own? I just, I don't get why people want grandchildren. Children I somewhat get, but grandchildren? Why?

No but that's only really true for developed countries. Most countries with high birth rates are also countries with higher mortality rates, specifically infant mortality. But besides that  they also tend to be more conservative countries and having a lot of children is quite a conservative value. Also children help their parents with earning money and shit. There are a lot of reasons for over population but stupid people in the west breeding isn't the most urgent one. That being said, over population isn't as big of a problem as we're made to think, I don't think. Here's an interesting video about it:
