I get the sentiment
like, this doesn't just go against people who just started designing, but also something every single long term designer at some point will be "to blame for"
sometimes designs are arguable less well executed than they could be but people still hype it up and in the long run, it just brings more negatives for everyone
(you might get a short ego boost as a designer, but first of all, we all know when we design crappy stuff, no need to sugar coat it, second of all, even if we were to believe anything, we'd then never feel motivated to improve; and both sides really aren't that great for the users as well)

to delve a bit further into this, because I actually am someone with a bit discussion about this matter:
you probably noticed that like the last 3 months all the german shop updates were like really old sets of mine. now granted, they aren't utter shit and if considered from when they actually were, they for the most parts are actually pretty decent. but compared to what people in general and me specifically as well put out right now, the designs are severely lacking. and this is something I had many discussion with Voldemort about. We kinda need regular shop updates, because let's be real, VP would suck with even less shop updates than we already have. The whole principle of this game is to collect clothes and build a wardrobe. But, there is a major lack in sets, which is more true for some servers than for others. So it's either not upload anything at all and barely have any german designs in game (which is also kinda political, because we now already get so many salty comments about why there even is a german design team and that we kinda don't deserve to be around and like ... fuck you people, we work for you, thanks for saying we are useless?? so it's important to still work at our utmost capacity to just try and keep up with the other servers. Because guess what, if we would keep relying on the other servers to cover for our slots, they at some point will get pissed and would then be rightful to question our existence.) or just not uploading stuff and not bringing new sets to the game. but this kinda leads to sets getting in game that in the end, only 10 players throughout all the 3 servers really care about
I might have lost my train of thought here, this is me basically just ranting about what comes to mind first, but it is a serious issue and we still don't know how to cope with it, like server wide and on all the servers and ultimately, the users are the ones paying th price for it

Yes I do agree. Also not me being jealous but: when some ppl post smth decent in design chat n gets ignored
n others post smth very small or not noteworthy at all n they get 3 pages of replies. Not sexy of vp

true
but then I'm also culpable of this, because I don't comment on everything, usually if it's a designer designer, I don't comment, because I know they often get at least a bit of validation from their fanbase (let's be real, we all have kind of a "fanbase";) and if it's from non d's that already got many comments on it, I usually don't post too much either
it at some point got so complicated, that I just take some times to get "active" in the chat and then comment on nearly everything new that gets posted during that time and just "ignore" the rest (I acknowledge it, but often without reacting publically)

if you want it as a supportive comment, it often will come off as such
if someone is really that adverse to constructive cristicism and doesn't want a comment at all, no matter how you phrase ist, they will get mad. that will be their own fault then for sharing it and making themselves open for comments
but for the most part, you'd be very careful in how to construct your comment and I guess, people will understand, that it's coming from a good place - even if they might not super immediately, like I mean, I used to get offended by people being like "I don't like the big eyes you make" which granted was all on me, but in the end you kinda realise what that comment was all about and learn to differentiate

altho some people overhype their friends' minimal work and criticize the rest of the other designers when at times the others are better than their friends #trustory
