Ahh yeah makes sense, I am picky about most things in life, dreams and passion for interests aswell I guess.  I had 2 things I wanted to study and had to write the swedish SATs 4 times to be able to make just one of those dreams come through lol. Law school is so much fun! Why does it feel compelling to you?

hmm okay I understand, then it's good that you're browsing through other options aswell I guess! But also good that you still have the dancing until you know for sure what you want
I think it's good to keep your options open and not tie yourself to one path in life, but everything in moderation as they say, and having too many possible options to choose from just gets overwhelming, haha. Oh, do you have SATs in Sweden as well? I had no idea.
You think? even though it's A LOT of reading from what I've heard? I'm honestly not sure as to why, to be completely honest, but I guess I just find laws and regulations, how to interpret them, discuss their meaning and how to apply them to situations, interesting. My dad has been telling me from an early age that he thinks working in the law field in some way would be perfect for me, but I just dismissed that thought.. until now.

it's just so ridiculously expensive to be an international student in the uk... really curious to see if anything happens to the tuition after brexit, but i honestly kinda doubt it, at least for the time i have left here.
oh, and i completely missed your question in the last post, sorry about that. I have about a year and a half left :')
yeah i totally agree, but it's okay to dream about things, just if you can distinguish what you feel truly passionate about everything will work out probably

hmm well I call them SATs because that's the closest things I've heard about. it's a test you can take, that is taken in one day over 5 different parts, so you take them between 8 and 16 (8 am and 4 pm), and then you get a score you can apply to uni with?

yeah there's a lot of reading for sure.. too much for me I would say. it's good that I'm decent at finding what's most important.. so if you absolutely hate reading then it might be a challenge, but at the same time you get into it, a little atleast... but it's worth it, for me atleast! you just have to have people you can depend on, and a decently sane mind, so you don't go crazy in all the work you have to put out. I and my classmates do have a mental breakdown sometimes, but it all have worked out in the end. you grow into it in a weird way, as long as you stay afloat during the process

oh yeah, i've no experience in university studies that cost money but it sounds like a total drag and I'm crossing my fingers for it becoming cheaper for you before you're finished!!

ah halfway through then!
exactly, yes

oh, interesting. We don't have any tests like that in Norway, at least not as I'm aware of, so we just have to take separate exams in each subject.

i don't mind reading at all, i've just heard that law school is next level, you know, haha. But, as you say, most people get into some sort of routine with it as they start getting used to the workload, so as long as you just keep it up, it's probably more than doable! Thank you for the little insight, I'm not too frightened by the thought of applying to law school yet, lol, though I might have to take a few extra exams to improve my high school grades before I'll get accepted.

Hmm, it will probably be something I just have to do and try to smile while doing ahah

I absolutely love it! I took a course in political science before I got into the law program and I liked it, but it was just... close to my passion, not quite there, and now I've found what I ought to do. And I feel so greatful for that. Ah alright yeah there are a lot of compelling things about law but it's really not for everyone and I'm glad to hear you didn't regret that choice :´) I think maybe 20 classmates of mine have dropped out of the program since I started haha
Yea probably... you can do it!!

ooo i love hearing that! It always makes me so happy when people find their The thing.
omg so many drop outs... i think the main reason why i didn’t go for law was that i’d love to live and work in many different countries in my life. And if i had papers saying that i know finnish law then what the fuck could i do anywhere else, like in the usa where the system is completely different? Babysit? So i just thought that well engineering is the same everywhere and i like math, let’s go for that haha
AHAH a babysitting lawyer, amazing. but yeah that's a totally valid argument against law and I've considered it aswell (I just accepted that sweden is where I will be lol). you would have to focus on international law to be able to work in other places of the world I guess, and I assume that it's not the easiest to get those jobs either
Yea that’s what i thought too. So engineering it is!
and you know i can always re-educate myself - it’s free here so why not if my passion for law just keeps growing.
anyway i’d love to know more about your studies if you feel like telling
what was your first year like? What kind of courses did you have? Was it time-consuming or extremely hard?

ah, we can do that aswell here. this test is a good opportunity for people with bad grades to show what they can without having to re-take courses I believe

oh then the law program might suit you pretty well! I don't mind reading but I never read anything else than law related books since I started the program, except from when I'm on my summer holiday since it's, just as you say, a lot of reading. we have 7 books to read in this course that we have until january, and 12 compendiums to read as a preparation to the 12 seminars, aand we're also expected to read relevant cases that can be used as reference as to how to judge a case... but this is a particularly challenging course so it's not always this "bad" ahah

that's good! as long as you do the work and take care of yourself I would say it's totally manageable so you shouldn't be frightened at all :´)

yeah it's not the easiest to get into so it makes sense, then you have time to really decide what you want! i wanted to study psychology or law and it's easier to get into law than psychology ahah but i'm greatful for that in the end

yeah indeed! to be a student is the best and worst thing! and I tend to be drawn to those love hate relationships ahahh, so I wouldn't mind studying another program after this either :')

oh sure hmm, well the law programs differ in every university here in sweden actually, how it's built, and I am studying a very new law program. the first students who started studying law here haven't even graduated yet so that's pretty special.

the first year was pretty forgiving and enjoyable, it covered a lot of the basics one had to have to  be able to understand everything in the course I take now (procedural law). the first year I think I took like, law basics and general jurisprudence first, and after that I took like "public law" which cover things that are connected to those fields that the government are in charge of basically (i hated this course actually), and then international law and company law in the end! i'm forgetting some courses here sorry heh... the third semester, which I am in now, is called "the wall" by students over the country lol, so it's the one that people tend to refer to as the hardest one, so that's where I'm at now. It's challenging but fun :') it's a lot of dicussions, writing of papers (this is unique for the program at my university and isn't common in others) and always an exam in the end of a course...

ah, that sounds nice tho. Wish we had something like that here as well, so that I wouldn't have to retake like five different exams, but oh well, that at least gives me the opportunity to really focus in on just one subject at a time

that's understandable, haha, cause I guess you don't really have the time to read anything else. And I'm just wondering, how did you find it in the beginning, when first trying to read and understand cases etc. as I assume you didn't have too much experience with that before you started?

oh, interesting. Do you know how the law programs differ? Is it mostly in the setup (papers, exams etc.) or does the actual courses and the order you learn things differ as well? And why did you choose the school/program you did, if you don't mind me asking?
