The first catastrophe I actively remember was the tsunami and atomar catastrophe in Fokushima 2011.
But going through the list, the headbutting thing of Zidane 2006 was VERY big that summer, I still know the song that was dominating the radio stations back then. And I have a vague memory of my mom watching celebrity gossip news when the pedophilia charges against Michael Jackson came out and she sat us down to talk to us about the matter more in detail because we didn't understand much about it back then. So far we were only told to not go with strangers and if someone did somethign we didn't like, we were supposed to say no and get away and tell another adult.

It's confusing to pick one and know if it's really the first.
