that's generations in terms of family and not linked to the sociological generations we are talking about right now
you are always the next generation family wise to your parents and the same as your siblings. but on a sociological level, you can be a different generation than your siblings and between you and your parents can be two generations
it's a bit like nationality and ethnicity?
