Is it a darker story? i would say the black one might be the best then.
How do you like faces on covers, that are not drawn? Do you usually avoid those?
I don't really care much about if it's drawn or not or if there are faces or other things on the cover. It's more like the general feel of it for me and if it fits the story vibe. I sorta love people on the cover tho. However, I do not rly enjoy the more cartoony covers w people on that much but they are normally contemporary so I rarely actually get those books.
one issue w putting real people on covers at least or like movie covers is that if that person did something that sucked i would probably not buy it bc of the cover lmaof
That's a good point. The only thing that draws me away from people on the cover, is that i like to imagine myself how these people might look. As soon as i know a face, it is all that i see. I have these books that have faces on them and the third is gonna release some time next year. I have imaged one of the protagonist faces and when i saw the cover she had made for the next, it just wasn't the face i had imagined all the time and it felt off.
It's of cause something else with non-fictional books thought.
ah yeah but I'm actually terrible at visualizing characters in my head. They are a vibe and maybe one or two traits, like normally a hair color or something they wear. I can't for the life of me keep a sensible picture of the characters in my brain long-term. I also keep using the faces on the covers for the characters, but I don't rly care since it helps me out haha but yeah most of the time characters are just obscure people dressed up as emotions in my head
