People aren't interested in connecting or building a friendship with me, not one that will actually matter more than the occasional conversation. I've tried to build deeper friendships with many people over the past years, but people always end up leaving or not putting any effort at all into it, and that's no friends I wish to have.
At the end of the day, I simply don't believe I'm meant to live the happy and joyful life so many people have, or strive to have
i think that there could be some possible people such as parental figures in your life which have conditioned you to think that you are not meant to live a happy life or joyful people have, which is not true, but it is very hard to break out of that mindset
i am stuck in it too so i dont think its that abnormal

That might be why, I don't really know. Could also be for several reasons, really. 
Yeah, I think unfortunately a lot people can relate to that kind of mindset
