l would understand if they wanted to replace it with  a language you can choose to learn but still, l find it bit lazy, most just want to get rid of Swedish because they don't want to learn it

Swedish is the easiest language to learn if you speak English and Finnish because the grammar is mix of both
Also there is the aspect of what will benefit the Nordics the most and the Finns (and Sami) are the only ones who strictly speaking is native to a language no one else is even remotely able to understand
Well, if you learn Swedish you can pretty much understand Danish and somewhat written Norwegian
l don't know why people don't want to have that leverage

well I mean.. have you taken a look at how Danish, Norwegian and Swedish look because it's .. the same.. it really is. It is merely dialectal varieties if you ignore any historical or cultural aspect

Swedish is very much a fantastic way of accessing so much when it comes to language I mean?? I cannot fathom how people do not want to learn a language that might contribute to them being able to understand so incredibly much more.

In the Scandinavian countries it's mandatory to have some classes about the other Scandinavian languages. Like we did read chapters from Danish and Swedish literature that they were like ah yes peak. So we read some H.C. Andersen in Danish and an excerpt from a book written in.. one of those multi-cultural Swedish varieties and so on.

that is very easily explained, Finnish is a Finno-Ugric language which one of the closest families mostly are dying small spoken languages along the Volga river. Yes, Hungarian and Estonian are also in this group but the linguistic roots are far from each other. When on the other hand Scandinavian languages are Indo-European.
