but then I'm also culpable of this, because I don't comment on everything, usually if it's a designer designer, I don't comment, because I know they often get at least a bit of validation from their fanbase (let's be real, we all have kind of a "fanbase" and if it's from non d's that already got many comments on it, I usually don't post too much either
it at some point got so complicated, that I just take some times to get "active" in the chat and then comment on nearly everything new that gets posted during that time and just "ignore" the rest (I acknowledge it, but often without reacting publically)

if someone is really that adverse to constructive cristicism and doesn't want a comment at all, no matter how you phrase ist, they will get mad. that will be their own fault then for sharing it and making themselves open for comments
but for the most part, you'd be very careful in how to construct your comment and I guess, people will understand, that it's coming from a good place - even if they might not super immediately, like I mean, I used to get offended by people being like "I don't like the big eyes you make" which granted was all on me, but in the end you kinda realise what that comment was all about and learn to differentiate

my perspective is skewed by my rejection sensitive dysphoria which causes me to take even the tiniest criticism or a badly phrased comment as "wow this person really fucking hates me" lol so im always wayyyy too wary  of criticizing anyone else
but if ppl are open to it im more than happy to offer criticism

I kinda see people posting in the design chat as "open season for comments", so, I'd generally say, that you could always give some form of feedback
like, let's be real, half of the debate is usually do I like this style or execution and that's not eally something we can truly comment on, because that's personal preference
but when it comes to suggesting different approaches, or helping out with a question, people usually appreciate it way more than we think, especially if they still consider themselves learners

Ig it depends what they r criticizing, some things just don't look gd to 99.9% of ppl so normal ppl can comment on that, but honestly it doesn't matter much to me who does it cus the tips is the same anyway
