danish intonation is like identical to dutch so if i hear someone talk i think theyre speaking dutch until i actually try to understand it and its incomprehensible

im kinda starting to understand some more tho and can now at least understand what the conversation is about 🥴
oooh thats inchresting, do u think that makes it harder to learn or easier? like speaking probably easier yes? but im always a bit like if two languages are super similar it feels like itd be easier to fall into the one you know better,,, like if i weatr to read a bunch of norwegian books i still dont think id learn it just understand ut better but if i read a bunch of spanish i would prolly learn it idk

yes that issue i kinda have rn with danish bc i keep falling back on norwegian
dutch and danish is def not similar enough to fall back on in the way that u can do with norwegian

like there are words that are similar enough that i can read them and recognise the dutch version of it but thats just bc its the same language tree or whatever

no the similarities rly end with the rhythm of speaking, i cant pronounce danish for the life of me
