There's this whole narrative that always comes up in these threads that's like "I'm lgbt but fuck the lgbt community, please let me suck your dick" and like, yeah, the lgbt community is very toxic at times but we still fucking need it and distancing yourself from it doesn't do anyone any good.

I find the whole pro-Israel vs pro-Palestine thing so dumb. I think Jews their homeland and Israelis have a right to the region but that doesn't negate the Palestinians having a right to the region as well. Taking sides in this manner is childish and not at all productive.

I don't know if this is an attack on me as I hadn't said anything about LGBT this time but honestly I think it is completely fair not to want to be in a community based on something out of your control, it should be optional whether or not you want to make it into something that significant for yourself. Sure it probably is for a lot of people, for many it matters and is important to feel like you are a part of something, but not all people need or want that and that should be accepted too. I've seen some kind of like guilt-tripping attempt on LGBT people who e.g. don't participate in Pride and honestly I'm having 0 of that.
